Having fun is important to me and I found it in creating art.
I enjoy sketching with pen and ink, charcoal, or graphite pencil but my real interest is color. I use watercolors, oils or acrylics for my paintings. Many subjects interest me including landscapes, flowers, and people.
My father was an accomplished professional illustrator and fine art painter. He was my first teacher and very demanding.
Having fun was not in his curriculum.
I studied art at the University of Houston, the University of Texas at Austin, and graduated from the Art Institute of Houston.
After a few years working in commercial illustration studios and freelancing, I now work in my own studio at home. I studied in several workshops with Willian Hook and William Herring and four online workshops with Dreama Tolle Perry.
I continue to paint …for the fun of it.
My husband, David and I have three children, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. We live in Houston, Texas and share our home with two cats, Abby Cat and Tomboy.
